Oh Warren, what can I say.
Your enthusiasm, amazing knowledge, ability to have us in the right place at the right time is just amazing.
Each trip I have ‘done’ with you just gets better…… if that is possible. Who could have believed one minute we would be surrounded, so closely, by so many elephants trumpeting and playing with each other and then each sunset have the pleasure of leopards and even a caracal just posing for the camera.
The whole experience was just a pleasure from start to finish. Peter and Heather organised everything superbly, it was such a pleasure to have Jesse join us and the amazing spotting from yourself, Armin and Jesse made each day a bundle of surprises.
Your patience with improving my camera skills was so appreciated and I am now looking back and savouring every minute of that magical week.
You and your team are in a league of your own.
Thank you, and, see you in 2016 – bad luck!
Sally Bruce, Berkshire, U.K.
I have just returned from a fantastic photographic safari in Samburu with Warren.
Heather and Peter made sure all the arrangements were in place before we arrived and from the moment we stepped out of the plane in Nairobi we were well looked after.
I have never met such a enthusiastic, knowledgeable and patient person as Warren. He answered endless questions about the wildlife and repeated numerous instructions for the camera without ever appearing to lose patience with us!
His knowledge of the wildlife and its habitat and his ability to predict the movement of the animals and position the car in the best place for photos is amazing. ‘Close up and personal’ can’t get better than a lion standing roaring next to you and elephants trunks smelling around you as you lean out of the car looking up at them taking photos! I mustn’t forget to mention Amin who keep guard and was brilliant at spotting animals for us.
The advice about improving photos, tales about filming or sundowners out in the bush before having dinner together in the evening were perfect endings to the day.
I didn’t want to come home at the end and can’t wait to return!
Asante Sana Warren.

During the last 12 years I have been on several safaris with Warren: mostly in the Mara but also in Samburu, Laikipia and the Serengeti. Every trip has been a total success. Back in 2004 he was an already very well known cameraman – an integral part of Big Cat Diary, the programme which lit up my own love of the Mara At that time I was the proud owner of a Canon 10 D! Equipment has improved considerably during the intervening years – but so far as the ability of Warren’s incredible eyes to sight potential subjects and then to find the best possible place to observe the subsequent action, nothing has changed! He really has remarkable skills – based on his long experience of African wildlife, his driving skills ,his relaxed and friendly personality and his many, well informed contacts.
All our trips have proved exciting and trouble-free. I do believe that luck is the residue of careful planning and certainly our time with Warren has illustrated that well. He has a particular love of Samburu, a quite beautiful Park, and our recent trip there was memorable. When his team have been in charge of all our planning they have always been very thorough and have chosen appropriate lodges.
We feel we have been extremely privileged to have shared his wonderful knowledge and enthusiasm on so many occasions.

“Have travelled with Warren 5 or 6 times now. He is quite simply superb as a guide. His knowledge of animal behaviour, and his ability to predict what’s going to happen next, is brilliant. And what really sets him apart from other guides is the ability then to position the vehicle to ensure that you get the best possible shots, in the best possible light. Fantastic for photographers; and really good company!”
“Warren’s innate understanding of animal behaviour makes him the most rivetting of hosts on an African Safari. He has the ability to put what you see in perspective with its surroundings. A fabulous experience.”
I had the pleasure and privilege to go to the Masai Mara in October 2012 and Warren was one of our professional guides. His knowledge of African wildlife is second to none and his enthusiasm and joy of the terrain is infectious.
His camera work and photography speak for themselves and the many awards he has won for all the wildlife documentaries he has been involved in over the years are testament to his abilities. I was truly impressed that he was willing to spend so much time sharing his professional knowledge with others; even with someone like me who had only a simple point and shoot camera. He was patient, kind and fun company.
I would wholeheartedly recommend travelling with Warren – you won’t be disappointed! (And I shall be deeply envious!)

I have been on 6 Safaris with Warren in the Mara over the last few years.
In the past I have also been with other guides.
His expertise, knowledge and driving skills are unsurpassed, in fact so good that when I go again I would do so only if Warren leads the Safari.
His leadership ability is also outstanding.
What a privilege to have been with Warren, typing this is giving me withdrawal symptoms!

Warren is the only guide I would travel with when we next do a safari. His passion and knowledge is wonderful, his focus is always on the people in his care, and he is a delight to be with because he has the humility to be awed by the Mara after so many years, and he gave this to us. We loved him for himself, and hope to have enough money one day to travel with him again. Give him a hug from me please. We still miss the Mara.
We travelled to the Masai Mara with Warren in 2011 and came back with huge smiles on our faces and a crop of incredibly rich memories. Warren was an amazing guide to the wonders of African wildlife – not just because of his unrivalled knowledge (and his patience and guidance in helping us to achieve some amazing photographic results) but because of his highly contagious passion and enthusiasm. Most importantly, his approachability and friendliness made our time in the Mara far more than just another safari trip but connected us with the lives of the animals in a way that we could never have expected to have experienced.

If you love elephants this is the safari for you. We had a fantastic time. Firstly in Tsavo East, seeing the massive congregations of herds around the watering holes and looking for the “Big Tuskers” (and getting to know a bit about the great work Tsavo Trust does). Then on to Amboseli – getting in (close!) to the bulls at the watering hole at Elerai and then seeing the families of elephants in Amboseli itself – great shots of the lines of ellies through the shimmering heat and the dust. Warren – as always – you were invaluable in making sure not only that we saw everything we wanted but also that we were in exactly the right spot at the right time!

Thank you Warren for giving us an exceptional safari during the migration last August. My wife and I admired your knowledge and friendliness and can thoroughly recommend anyone wishing to photograph, observe or learn about the fabulous African wildlife to join you on any future safaris.

“We have had the opportunity to be with Warren in 2 memorable trips to the Maasai Mara, and there can’t be anyone more skillful for interpreting predators’ behavior and anticipating the action in order to be in the best spot for taking the best shots of it, and also taking in consideration important photography aspects like the lighting, the background and so on. Warren also can tell a lot about all variety of wildlife found there and, after so many years in the field as a wildlife cameraman, he has always a good story to share when it is time to relax a bit. We recommend to our friends and to any photographer willing to go into a photographic safari to join Warren in one of his trips, and we look forward to be together again anytime soon.”

In the evenings a selection of some of the guest images were also projected for Warren and other guests to comment on. Warren also screened some of his wildlife films and gave his guests the inside story of how they were made.

Steve’s and Annabel’s camp in Laikipia is first class. It was wonderful to be able to see the wild dog pack (and even feel part of it at some points!) and observing the early days of the pups was superb. Then on to Samburu to spend time with some of the calmest elephants I’ve ever met – with the added bonus of a leopard posing in the top of the tree in a beautiful sunset. So many memorable moments –ad with this being your “back yard”, Warren, you know exactly where we need to be to get the best photos almost, it seems, without even thinking about it!

In October 2015 Warren took us to Laikipia Wilderness Camp in Northern Kenya. This camp is run like a family home to which we were welcomed as guests of the family. The main attraction here was the pack of wild dogs that we were fortunate to see on every day of our visit. This was made possible by the fact that they are the subject of a special study and one of them wears a GPS collar so it was possible to track them down. It was lovely to see the pack at rest and we were able to get ground-level photos, eye to eye with some of the adults, and great pictures of the puppies playing. Eventually at some signal from the adults the whole pack moved off to hunt and we were treated to the fabulous sight of the dogs streaming off at top speed, nose to tail, in search of a kill. We also had good sightings of elephants bathing in the dam and quite a lot of Giraffe plucking up the courage to come down to the waters edge to drink. Herds of Zebra and sightings of lion too. We then moved on Eastward to the Elephant Bedroom Camp in Samburu.
The main attraction here was of course the elephants and as the camp has no fences we had elephants browsing on greenery within the camp itself. The rains were very late arriving last autumn so the bush was very dry and the grazing animals were beginning show their ribs. This made them easy pickings for the big cats so we were treated to the sight of some very well fed lion, leopard and cheetah. At dusk one evening we were sitting close by an adult male lion who had decided to call in his family. His whole body acted at bellows to send his roars out across the darkening bush and pulsing vibrations through our bodies too, unforgettable.
A very special sighting was of two adult female leopards hunting in the same area, mother and daughter successfully hunting independently. Our favourite photo was of the younger one, well fed and relaxing high up on a branch with legs dangling and peering down at us curiously. A memorable encounter to stay with us till our next safari with Warren. He has become a very special friend who never fails to give us amazing memories to bring home and last us until the next time. Can’t wait, Warren!

“I have travelled with Warren Samuels as my guide three times now and cannot overstate how much he elevates the experience beyond just a ‘normal’ safari. It is like being in first class after years of economy! His level of expertise, both in animal behaviour and also the needs of a serious photographer are unsurpassed and thanks to him, the quality of my images have leapt ahead of anything I ever dreamed I’d be able to achieve. If you want the best sightings, the best position and the best insights into the animals in front of you, then you want to be in a vehicle with Warren, simple as that. And the fact that he is also one of the nicest and most patient people you’ll ever come across makes him a total delight. Save up your pennies and travel with Warren!”
Warren is an exceptional wildlife professional. He inspires, he teaches but more than that he shares with you his experiences, his passion and his knowledge of these amazing creatures and how they live.
Our abiding memory is of Warren standing up in the safari truck shouting “go, go, go” as the Mara river crossing started. A first for us but how many times had he seen it? The passion was still there for all to see (and hear!).
To spend time with Warren is to understand the majesty of the animal kingdom and to realise that as individuals we can and should play our part in preserving this rich heritage.
We will be joining him on another safari experience as soon as we can!

Have been safaris in Tanzania, South Africa , Kenya and Namibia and can honestly say that we had a fantastic safari both times with Warren on the Mara. We had some fantastic experiences with him, sitting with families of lions a few yards away with him explaining all their differnt habits! We watched the Migration close at hand and he was happy to stay out all day with us if we so desired there was no time watching at all! My most wonderful memory was having a cheetah sitting on the vehicle bonnet only inches from me!
I am delighted to write on behalf of Warren Samuels, who I have had the pleasure to go on safari with four times over a period of six years. Warren’s trips provide the opportunity to go to places like the Masai Mara in the company of someone who has a tangible knowledge, love and respect for the area and genuinely takes a lot of effort to make his client’s experience the trip of a lifetime. He utilises his knowledge of ethology and wildlife camera experience to provide the best possible photographic opportunities without compromising the comfort of the animals and constantly gives tips for cine and still photographers to improve their pictures. Add to this the entertainment he provides around the campfire in the evenings with his various stories and you have the perfect safari. If I am ever lucky enough to go back to the Mara again, I would choose to go with Warren.
Indeed we are acquainted with Warren, and were pleased to meet Heather on our last visit to Kenya. We first met Warren in 2004 when he assisted an ‘Improve your wild life photography’ course. He was there for 5 days only as another engagement had him leaving early. Everybody on that trip fell in love, at least a little, with him! Seeing him again last year was like meeting up with a lifelong friend. His devotion to and concern for the wild life of his country is overwhelming.
His treatment of all of the visitors in his care is equal and unstinting. Those with an economy ‘point and click’ device were treated with the same respect and attention as those with more professional equipment and some experience.
Sorry it’s taken a while, the experience lingers and gets one drifting back there, even after 8 years!
Maybe we will meet there some day

Travelling with Warren is having the best guide, the best camera tutor, the keenest driver and the funniest stories all combined in one charming package.
“We have had the good fortune of being on safari in Kenya with Warren three times and look forward to being out in the field with him every time. He is always generous with his advice and time and has a wonderful knack of getting you in the right place at the right time for that perfect shot. Being with Warren is always an inspiration and we always find ourselves wanting to improve our photography each time. Warren is a delight to be with and would gladly recommend him to anyone that enjoys wildlife, the great outdoors and photography – at whatever level”.

Safari held in Samburu April 2015
I was very fortunate to be able to experience a wondrous safari over 7 days in Samburu National Park
Staying at the Elephant Bedroom Camp located on the river, where elephants roam through leisurely eating the palm fruits.
Wild Vision Adventures certainly upheld their name by its excellent organisation and daily delivering live visions of the local wildlife.
My wishes were to learn how to use my camera properly, capture unique moments and sight a leopard.
Both were delivered in abundance and have hundreds of wonderful pictures to prove it.
Managed to follow the life a lady leopard (saw an impala kill) and her 2 young cubs (breathtaking).
Always managing to position the Land Cruiser in the right light setting and angle.
Warrens’s local knowledge was in depth with lots of history making our days very efficient in capturing those special moments.
Could not recommend anybody better than Warren Samuels to deliver the Kenyan Experience.

We met Warren for a short while during a safari in the Mara, where he was part of group of photographer hosts, and immediately my wife and me decided that we should aim toward a private safari trip with Warren in his “native” country -Samburu..
A year later our 37 years old son joined us for his first trip to Africa, a 9 days safari to Laikipia and Samburu with Warren.
The trip was a pure delight for us all, from the smooth travel arrangement, through impeccable accommodations and exceptional guidance and warm welcoming hosts wherever we went, to great wildlife close encounters with wild dogs, lions, leopards, huge herds of elephants and many more.
Warren and his team delivered the best photography safari experience possible for not only enthusiastic advanced photographers but also for a newbie, such as our son, who held a DSLR for the first time of his life and managed to produce great pictures and to gain a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
We can highly recommend Warren safaris to anyone who has wildlife and photography deep in his soul!
